Notices to tenants/occupants


Tenants of PDP3 and adjacent buildings have been informed of construction work through operational notices issued by BGIS, with PSPC’s informal consent. Notices issued to date are provided below. This list will be updated regularly.

Tower B1 & A2: Decoupling of Mechanical Systems March 13, 2023 To separate the mechanical systems in Tower A2 from Tower B1.
High Voltage Switchgear Component Replacement Feeding Tower C March 13, 2023 To perform needed maintenance to the High voltage Switchgear supplying power to Tower C.
Re-location of Switchgear Battery Room and Associated Equipment (UPDATED) March 10, 2023 To re-locate the batteries and associated equipment that support the Switchgear which provides power complex wide.
Tower B1: Delineation and Hoarding Wall (L5) February 24, 2023 To outline and separate the occupied space from the demolition and abatement activities.
Tower B1: Demolition and Construction Activities (L5) February 24, 2023 To complete Place du Portage III Asset and Workplace Renewal Project scheduled renovations.
Site Wayfinding QR Code February 16, 2023 To provide a quick and paperless link to wayfinding on Portage III and Portage IV's site as part of the Place du Portage III AWR Project.
Towers D & E: Delineation and Hoarding Wall (UDPATED) February 15, 2023 To outline and separate the occupied space from the demolition and abatement activities.
Electrical Shutdown in Laurier-Taché Parking Garage (Maisonneuve Sector) (UPDATED) February 8, 2023 To proceed with scheduled Tower C electrical maintenance.
Tower A: Storm and Sanitary Pipe Installation (UPDATED) February 3, 2023 To demolish the existing pipe and reinstall a new underground sanitary and storm one in L03 (A0314) in Tower A.
Tower Crane 2 (TC-2): Structural Steel Upgrades (UPDATED) January 27, 2023 To allow for the tower crane openings that are required for its erection in the Laurier-Taché Parking Garage through levels P1, P2 and P3.
Mission Critical Spaces (L15) January 27, 2023 To complete A1 and A2 Towers construction fit up, to accommodate B1 Tower tenants.
Tower B3: Delineation and Hoarding Wall (L0) January 20, 2023 To outline and separate the occupied space from the demolition and abatement activities.
Tower B3: Delineation and Hoarding Wall (L01 & L02) January 19, 2023 To outline and separate the occupied space from the demolition and abatement activities.
Tower Crane Installation in Laurier-Taché Parking Garage (UPDATED) January 19, 2023 To prepare the site for the construction and installation of the tower crane (TC-2).
Tower E: Construction of Partition Wall January 6, 2023 To outline and separate the occupied space from the bulk of demolition and abatement activities while the Security Operations Centre remains in place (02B2-101).
Temporary Disruption to the Laurier-Taché Parking Garage Door Operators (CANCELED) January 3, 2023 To remove, then relocate the fiber optic cables, including conduits and boxes that control the garage door openers within the Laurier-Taché parking garage. The conduits and boxes are currently located in L02 in Tower C on a block wall that is scheduled to be demolished.
Opening of Interim Mailroom December 19, 2022 To move the mailroom occupants from the old location in Tower B3 to the new location in Tower B2.

Note: The old mailroom location is scheduled for demolition as part of phase 1 of the PDP3 AWR Project.

Tower B: Exterior Demolition (UPDATED) December 19, 2022 To install temporary new stairs to allow emergency access and egress during construction activities and demolish existing stairs.
Preparation of the Mobile Crane Base December 14, 2022 To prepare the base, a granular pad, for the installation of the mobile crane on Laurier Street, which is to assist with the installation of the Tower Crane (TC-2) within the exterior construction zone of Tower B.
Tower C: Removal of Emergency Generator December 2, 2022 To disconnect Tower C generator and then reconnect the feeds to the generators in Towers A and B to ensure backup electricity in the event of an electrical power outage.
Installation and Mobilization of Mast Climbers December 2, 2022 To assist in the removal of the exterior envelope of Towwers C1/C2.
Temporary Shutdown of Primary Chilled Water Loop (UPDATED) November 25, 2022 To directly reconnect critical mechanical equipment (V-30, V-72 and V-74) to the primary chilled water loop to accommodate the demolition of the pumps and heat exchangers in Tower C Level 02. Space in the mechanical room is required for construction of the concrete shear wall and associated re-shoring.
Tower C: Emergency Generator Removal November 18, 2022 To disconnect the Tower C generator and then reconnect its emergency load to the generator control panel in Tower B to ensure backup electricity in the event of an electrical power outage.
Tower B1 - Level 0: Construction Hoarding (UPDATED) November 17, 2022 To create a safe delineation between tenants and the construction zone in preparation of the PDP3 AWR Project.
Towers B1 & B3: Demolition and Construction Activities (L1, L2 & L3) November 17, 2022 To complete Place du Portage III Asset and Workplace Renewal (PDP3 AWR) Project scheduled renovations.
Towers B1 & B3: Demolition and Construction Activities (L6 to L12) November 17, 2022 To complete Place du Portage III Asset and Workplace Renewal (PDP3 AWR) Project scheduled renovations.
Erection of Tower Crane (TC-1) in the construction area between PDP3 and PDP4 (Woodlands area) October 11, 2022 The erection of the tower crane (TC-1) is one of the PDP3 AWR Project milestones as it visually symbolizes the beginning of the demolition activities.
Bicycle Enclosure Relocation September 6, 2022 To facilitate the additional site logistics required for the Construction Manager to install exterior hoarding in preparation for construction work around PDP III Tower C.
Towers C and D Closure: Pedestrians Wayfinding Plans (Exterior) September 6, 2022 How to circulate between PDP4 and the A/B/E towers of PDP3 (exterior).

Sidewalk Closure: Laurier Street August 16, 2022 To facilitate the additional site logistics required for the Construction Manager (CM) to isolate the access to egress for site deliveries, loading and unloading. The implementation of this measure is also to ensure the safety and protection of the public and to contain the construction site within the hoarding walls.
Traffic Lane Closure: Laurier Street August 16, 2022 To facilitate the additional site logistics required for the Construction Manager (CM) to isolate the access to egress for site deliveries, loading and unloading. The implementation of this measure is also to ensure the safety and protection of the public and to contain the construction site within the hoarding walls.
Place du Portage IV: Wayfinding August 2, 2022 To facilitate the construction renovations, including the Tower C Curtainwall Upgrades; Tower C Interior Upgrades; and Structural Upgrades for the Place du Portage AWR Project.
Temporary Partial Closure: Laurier-Taché Parking Garage August 2, 2022 To facilitate the following renovations: installation of a new elevator pit; an interruption in the ventilation system; structural upgrades; and replacement of underground piping.
Hoarding Wall: Tower B Exterior July 29, 2022 To facilitate the additional site logistics required for the Construction Manager (CM) to isolate the access to egress for site deliveries, loading and unloading. The implementation of this measure is to ensure the safety and protection of the public and to contain the construction site within the hoarding walls.
