Accessible Canada Act - proposed updates to regulations

  • Presentation from Roberto Tesolin, ESDC Accessible Canada Directorate
  • Proposed changes to the Accessible Canada Regulations were published for consultation via the Canada Gazette in December
  • Focus is on digital accessibility including both public-facing web and internal-facing systems
  • Consultation is open until February 19, 2025 - Folks are encouraged to attend technical briefings - details on how to confirm your attendance are in the attached message:

Open Government - new data visualizations

  • Presentation from Damian Laverty, TBS GC Transparency Solutions
  • Demo'ed new data visualization functionality for proactive disclosure info from open.canada.ca, to be launching soon
  • Wil makes data that is already openly available (in a big spreadsheet) more digestible and understandable through interactive data visualization features
  • Developed using PowerBI
  • Interest in a follow-up regarding approach to accessibility for these features
