Why choose ESDC?
Every year, in the lead up to Remembrance Day, we mark Veterans’ Week. It presents an opportunity for Canadians to honour those who have served our country in times of war, military conflict and peace.
For more than a century, Canada’s diverse population of Veterans has served in many operations, both at home and abroad. Today’s Canadian Armed Forces members continue to reflect the courage and valour of those who served before them.
Each year, we encourage all employees to take a moment to think about the freedoms we all enjoy, thanks to the brave Canadians who have put our country before themselves.
At ESDC, we remind all employees of the importance to honour and remember Veterans. Here are some activities we propose:
Get to know our Veterans!
- Read a wide variety of Veterans stories via the Faces of Freedom and They proudly served profiles.
- Listen to the Faces of Freedom podcast. Make sure to subscribe, as a new series will launch soon.
- Watch Heroes Remember videos.
- Join the conversation on social media and share your thoughts, photos and videos, using the hashtag #CanadaRemembers.
- Wear a poppy with pride.
- Attend a virtual or in-person commemorative event.
Visit veterans.gc.ca/CanadaRemembers to learn about more ways to honour the service, courage and sacrifice of all those who have served Canada. Let’s express our gratitude and inspire our colleagues, friends and families to participate.
Together, let’s show how #CanadaRemembers.
