Below is a list of current activities / events under way, for which ISEO is involved in.

June 2021

June 9 TBC National Student Welcoming Event (Bilingual) Treasury Board Secretariat MS Teams ISEO a will be having a 10-minute presentation to present student support initiatives to all students of the government of Canada.
  • This will create awareness for students to participate in the initiative if they haven't registered already.
  • The presentation will vover what students receive such as networking opportunities, learning and development opportunities, and retention opportunities.
June 21 1:00-2:30pm EST National Indigenous Student Get Together Public Service Commission MS Teams To strengthen the representation, recruitment, development and retention of Indigenous people through targeted recruitment of talented Indigenous university or college students across Canada.
  • To present measures to support onboarding, development and work experience for all Indigenous students hired through the program.

This activity will be an opportunity for Indigenous students hired to learn:

  • Meet the team that lead ISEO
  • Different supports of the ISEO initiative
  • Mentoring opportunities
  • Diversity of career opportunities in the Federal Public Service
  • Networking opportunities with Indigenous public servants
June 25 2:00-3:00pm EST Second Language Information Session Public Service Commission Zoom ENGLISH SESSION To provide information on Second Language Evaluation and improvement services and options

Participants will leave the sessions with a more realistic understanding of the value of bilingualism should they seek to pursue a career in the federal public service, its overall impact on their career progression.

Mentors will speak about their career, experiences in the public service, challenges they face and faced, and they will answer questions from students. Mentors are from various levels such as managers, Vice President, Associate Deputy Minister, Operations, border officers, and many more!
July 15 1:00pm-2:00pm EST How to Apply on Government Positions! Public Service Commission Zoom FRENCH SESSION This learning activity will provide hired students with disabilities and indigenous students with the knowledge on how to apply for government jobs/Internal Application.
July 15 2:00pm-3:00pm EST How to Apply on Government Positions! Public Service Commission Zoom ENGLISH SESSION This learning activity will provide hired students with disabilities and indigenous students with the knowledge on how to apply for government jobs/Internal Application.
