|Celine Ahodekon is African – born and raised in Africa where she taught English and French in a high school for 7 years before moving to Canada in 1990. To gain Canadian experiences, she earns another degree in Business Administration at Laval University, Quebec. She is a bilingual Heritage Presenter with Parks Canada located at Fort Langley National Historic Site where she has been working for the last 17 years. She loves sharing Canada’s history with Canadians and international visitors. She proudly believes in protecting and presenting Canada’s rich and beautiful natural and cultural heritage for Canadians’ enjoyment, today and for the years to come. Celine is a strong Human Rights advocate and is part of her Field Unit Equity Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She is a community builder and community activist, organizing Black and Asian Heritage Month celebrations in her community. Celine has been very active within her component and local and has held many positions, including serving on the Parks Canada bargaining team and as the equity representative for racialized members of the Union of National Employees (UNE). Celine is a co-chair of the Fraser Valley Human Dignity Coalition in Abbotsford and a Board Member of Abbotsford Heritage Society 2021.
