I was a new to Federal employment & wanted to network as well as grow in my career

What motivated you to join the Lifting as you Lead Mentoring Circles program?

To network, learn about sponsorship, inclusivity, diversity & equity in the federal context

How do you envision your participation contributing to your professional growth?

Professionally, I've grown immensely & now have a sponsor. I've also learnt how to practically apply key leadership requirements in my job applications & interviews, which was missing before I attended LLMC.

What specific goals or aspirations do you hope to achieve through this experience?

To apply all I've learnt in my branch, help to lift others up to where they want to be as well as keep moving forward in my life & career

Can you share a specific challenge or opportunity that led you to seek mentorship with the public service?

I felt stuck in my job & didn't understand why or what to do.

Describe the impact you aim to make within your role through this program.

To practice inclusivity, diversity & equity, show more empathy towards other, not be too quick to put a label on everyone I meet. We are all human & going through one thing or another even if its not visible to the human eyes. Be kind & show empathy.

What has most inspired you in this journey of your professional development?

Getting to know my cohort members, the 'sponsorship' masterclass & the free exchanges of information during LLMC Friday office hours.

How do you believe mentorship and sponsorship can enhance your leadership skills in the public service?

Through the KLC Application Courses 1 & 2 which I received, I believe were life changing & greatly enhanced my leadership skills/capabilities.

What unique strengths or perspectives do you bring to your circles that can benefit others?

My legal skills

Is there a particular aspect of leadership or career development that you are eager to explore further in this program?

Policy development & providing legal advice

How would you define success for yourself at the end of this Lifting as you Lead Mentoring Circles program?

That I move at least a step towards achieving the above goals

How can you apply what you learned from the Lifting as you Lead Mentoring Circles program to the workplace?

By volunteering my time & effort to support the organization & others

What is the one message you would like to leave us with today?

LLMC was informative, timely, practical, innovative & helpful, please keep it up & thank you for having me.
