Notes and action items

Digital Transformation Office (DTO) updates

Data breach messaging

  • New text coming from Treasury Board about the relocation data breach alert. The new text makes it clearer that the alert is only intended for current and former federal employees.
  • No word yet on take-down date.

H1 updates coming

We are updating the main page title style for Canada.ca.

Currently a thin, long red line appears under most Canada.ca main page titles (h1). We will be updating this in the coming weeks. The current line will be replaced with a shorter red bar (known as the gc-thickline class).

This work is a branding decision and part of a design refresh that we had planned to do in 2019/2020.

The new h1 styling contributes to a more modern look and feel for Canada.ca.

We will share the date for deployment once it is finalized. The design specifications will be available via the Typography pattern:https://design.canada.ca/styles/typography.html

Roundtable

Correctional Services Canada

We have migrated to Canada.ca but are having some problems with redirects that we’re working on.

Canada Revenue Agency

We have posted this year’s tax guide: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/taxes/income-tax/personal-income-tax/get-ready-taxes.html

Canadian Heritage

Black History Month content is coming but not posted yet. This year’s theme is Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build.

Question: Has anyone dealt with extremely long titles for documents?

Answer: We dealt with this, by trying to write a short H1, and right underneath have the full title in text.

Question: Any guidance coming about X (formerly Twitter)?

Answer: At this time we don’t know for sure, still waiting for confirmed guidance.
