Updates
Digital Transformation Office (DTO)
Thank you to everyone for the cabinet shuffle work. As you have more information to add to the profiles please send that over to Principal Publisher.
There is a new Minister of Citizen Services. The Canadian Digital Service (CDS) is moving over there. We don’t have much information yet but we will share more when we have some - likely when mandate letters come out. Mandate letters will live on the PMO’s website and will be linked to from the ministerial profiles.
Twitter to X logo change: We have it on our list of things to figure out and will share once we have guidance.
Plain language guidance
DTO has put together a small working group of plain language subject matter experts. We are working together to update the plain language guidance in the Canada.ca Style Guide. We will share that guidance once it’s created.
Q1 Task Success Survey Results
We saw very little change to top 50 success rates compared to Q4. Only 4 tasks had an increase that was statically significant.
Summer is a great time to go in and look at your data and make small changes and improvements based on the data.
New GC web archive from LAC
The GC Web archive is fully up and operational. The website has instructions on how to get content on your website archived. It allows you to search for old Government of Canada information that was posted on the web.
Web and social media preservation program
This does not replace government repositories or information management practices. It’s solely to archive the GC web presence.
Web archiving does not refer to:
- Government of Canada information management
- recordkeeping
- the collection of archival records
New Directive on Proactive Publication under Access to Information Act outlines retention and disposition timelines for proactive disclosure.

- Colleagues at PS Flood Risk have reached out to DTO for a meeting regarding design system requirements for the PS Flood Risk Portal Project
