The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of coming together as a community of public servants, including to help each other find work alternatives. The Canada School of Public Service is actively moving towards secure, cloud-based systems that will provide improvements in system availability, functionality and usability for all learners. In partnership with Public Services and Procurement Canada, the School has run an agile, competitive procurement process to replace its current learning management system. The School is pleased to announce the top three vendors of its Next Generation Digital Learning Environment request for proposals: D2L Brightspace, Saba Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors. The next phase of the procurement process will engage public servants in virtually testing the platforms of the three shortlisted vendors. As such, we are seeking volunteers to help assess the capabilities and usability of the top three prototypes based on predesigned user scenarios. It could take two to three hours to complete one scenario, which will need to be repeated for each of the three prototypes. We are also seeking technical specialists to assess the prototypes for compliance with official languages and accessibility (WCAG 2.0) standards. All scores from the user scenarios will be gathered and combined with the financial submissions to determine the highest-scoring vendor. The winning vendor will be awarded the final contract, and implementation of the new platform will begin.
