Official Languages Learning The Treasury Board Secretariat Language training framework

Find out more about the Language Training Framework on the Language Training Hub. The frameworks provides second language learning options that are effective, flexible, accessible and responsive to the needs of equity-seeking groups. It includes the following elements:

  • The Guidelines on second official language training to support federal institutions
  • The Handbook on second official language training which includes best practices and recommendations
  • The Playbook for second official language leaning which contains various learning paths, tools and resources tailored to the needs of learners in a variety of organizational contexts.
Language maintenance tools

The Canada School of Public Service offers a number of free online self-assessment tools, in English and in French, to help you improve or maintain your language skills. The online language learning products include self-directed evaluation simulations and interactive tools designed to improve oral and written comprehension, pronunciation, grammar, written expression and fluency in the second official language.
