As part of the implementation of the commitments set out in section 41 of the OLA by federal institutions, it is essential to be familiar with the organizations representing Canada's English- and French-speaking minorities, as well as those working to protect the French language or promote French and English within Canadian society. This document, intended for those responsible for Part VII of the OLA within federal institutions, presents a selection of these organizations in order to provide a starting point for identifying official language stakeholders.

This tool is intended to support federal institutions in implementing Part VII of the OLA, specifically with respect to conducting analyses of the potential for positive measures and the impacts of structuring decisions. It aims to: provide guidance for conducting the analyses required under subsection 41(7) of the OLA; explain the applicable legislative context; present the main elements to be considered in these analyses; propose questions for reflection to guide the conduct of the analyses.
