The Tech Lab team, within the Canada School of Public Service (CSPS), is a multidisciplinary team of Designers and Developers. We work closely with partners and subject matter experts to develop user-centric innovative solutions aimed to provide public servants with truly rewarding and modern learning experiences. Some of the innovation projects we are currently working on include vExpo (virtual event platform and kiosks leveraging immersive technology), the creation of immersive virtual spaces, virtual reality experimentation to support learning, and more!

UX Content Coordinator (AS-03)

Branch and Directorate: ISDB Public Sector Innovation / Tech Lab

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Group and Level: AS-03 or equivalent

Job type: Assignment or Secondment (at-level), 1 year with possibility of extension.

Work Description

As UX Content Coordinator, your job is to help coordinate content submissions and validations from stakeholders, manage and update online content to ensure information is up-to-date, accessible, and is endorsed. You support the Digital Academy team with the content needs and work closely with developers and UX professionals to design and implement content strategies. You should also be quick to respond to partners enquiries, be detailed oriented and have great interpersonal skills to help foster long term partnerships.

More specifically, you will:

  • Work closely with partners to capture requirements, gather content and coordinate activities for the development of digital products.
  • Work as part of the UX team alongside designers, researchers, and developers to build and maintain digital applications and tools.
  • Perform quality assurance exercise for new and updated digital products, functionalities and content.
  • Perform content audits, analyze user data to evaluate content effectiveness and undertake cleanup exercises.
  • Design and implement content strategies, using data and evidence to give the audience the content they need, at the time they need it, and in a way they expect it.
  • Coordinate and develop inclusive and accessible content, product descriptions, feature updates, in-product messaging, online posts, reports, presentations, help articles and organizational pages.
  • Participate in user research activities and work with researchers to conduct user sessions, card sorting exercises and online research.


Essential Qualifications

Linguistic Profile: Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB

Security Clearance: Reliability

Education: A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives

Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and managing online content, proofreading and editing content, and testing all materials prepared for web publication.
  • Experience designing and applying content strategies, preferably in a product-focused environment.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team including UX designers, researchers, and developers.
  • Experience managing and updating online content, performing content audits.
  • Experience making recommendations to management.
  • The ability to translate business needs and research requests into actionable tasks.
  • Strong attention to details to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task.
  • Strong abilities to coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong project management, organizational and coordinating skills.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Strong reading, writing and communication skills in both official languages (English and French).
  • A strategic and creative mind to quickly identify problems and offer and practical solutions.
Asset qualifications:
  • Experience using MediaWiki, the software that powers Wikipedia or HTML and CSS knowledge.
  • Creative and design skills (using Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Knowledge of agile development processes.
  • Strong presentation skills, including creation, delivery, and openness to feedback.
