The webinar will raise awareness of its historical context and how the day was celebrated in the past. It will also recognize the accomplishments of Black Canadians as they continue to challenge systemic racism in todayβs society.

In celebration of Emancipation Day, Federal Black Employee Caucus (FBEC) - BC Chapter is pleased to organize an outdoor gathering and the invitation is open to all.
β Emancipation Day Outdoor Gathering
Come meet FBEC BC members, allies and other public servants as we gather on this important day. Bring your own supplies that you need to stay hydrated and comfortable. This includes food and beverage, BBQ, chairs, blankets, and anything else you need.
This is a family friendly event. Bring your family and friends to join a fun and relaxing afternoon. Please note that social distancing measures will be followed.

Join us to honour the history, heritage, diversity, achievements and contributions of Black Canadians and celebrate a pivotal part of our history as a nation. This event is part of the Canada School of Public Service's Anti-Racism Event Series and is presented in collaboration with the Federal Black Employee Caucus (FBEC).

To commemorate this occasion, a diverse group of panelists will share stories of what Emancipation Day means to them as individuals and in their communities.
