Microsoft 365 Fundamentals – MS 900- Total time investment: 6 hours, 36 minutes
- Practice exam: Practice Assessment for Exam MS-900: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
- This course introduces Microsoft 365, a cloud platform that combines productivity apps along with cloud services security.
- You'll learn foundational knowledge on the considerations and benefits of adopting cloud services and the SaaS cloud model, with a specific focus on Microsoft 365 cloud service offerings.
- You will begin by learning about cloud fundamentals, including an overview of cloud computing.
- You will be introduced to Microsoft 365 and learn how Microsoft 365 solutions improve productivity, facilitate collaboration and optimize communications.
- The course then analyzes how security, compliance, privacy and trust are handled in Microsoft 365 and it concludes with a review of Microsoft 365 subscriptions, licenses, billing and support.

The following additional required learning will assist the learner in meeting the required behavioral competencies for an IT-02 level. In addition, included courses on cybersecurity are essential for all IT practitioners.

- Using Strategic Thinking to Consider the Big Picture (csps-efpc.gc.ca) Big picture thinking stretches beyond short term goals to consider how an organization can succeed in the longer term. This online self paced course explores how to develop a sense of the big picture using the ideas of systems thinking, including broadening one's perspective, working with paradoxes, understanding causality, and assessing internal and external factors. Participants will learn how their decisions connect with their organization's strategic plans and value chain, and what actions they can take to encourage big picture thinking in their workplace
- Defining Alternative Solutions to a Problem (csps-efpc.gc.ca) Solving complex problems often involves devising multiple solutions each with their own pros and cons. This online self paced course examines different approaches to problem solving, including defining ideal states and generating practical solutions to difficult problems. Participants will learn to apply different problem solving techniques, including group brainstorming, to help avoid common pitfalls when choosing between multiple solutions
- Rapport Building in Customer Service (csps-efpc.gc.ca) Building rapport with customers or clients requires understanding their situation and listening empathetically to their concerns. This online self paced course offers recommendations on how to build good rapport with customers by paying close attention to their needs, staying positive, and finding ways to connect with them. Participants will learn how to empathize with customers by acknowledging their feelings and reflecting back their emotions, thereby normalizing their concerns
- Delivering Inclusive Client Service (csps-efpc.gc.ca) A client - centric approach is one that focuses on addressing client or user expectations, needs, challenges and feedback. This course explores the benefits of applying an inclusive mindset as part of client service delivery in a government context. Participants will reflect on behaviors and practices that encourage inclusiveness and how to integrate it when delivering services to clients
- Information Management in the Government of Canada (csps-efpc.gc.ca) The proper management of information and data government organizations is essential for the effective delivery of programs and services in the Government of Canada. This online self paced course examines the strategic role, guiding principles and complex infrastructure of information management (IM) systems across the Government of Canada. Participants will explore trends and factors affecting information management and gain a better understanding of the legislative and policy frameworks in which it operates
- IT Security Fundamentals for IT Practitioners To do their jobs, information technology practitioners must be equipped with the information and resources they need to perform common IT security tasks. This online self paced course offers an overview of information technology (IT) security policies, processes and procedures relevant to the role of IT practitioners in the federal public service.
