Harnessing the value of Digital Badges

The Enterprise Skilling and Strategy (ESS) team within the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) is piloting the use of digital badges to recognize achievements across the Government of Canada.

What are Digital Badges?

Digital badges serve as virtual and verifiable symbols that demonstrate an individual's accomplishments. They contain a variety of verifiable metadata about why they were issued.

These badges are visually conveyed through icons or links and can be easily shared across multiple platforms, such as social media, email signatures or using QR codes.
