The Cabinet Directive on Regulation (CDR)

Guidance, Templates and Tools for Regulators

The Government of Canada has introduced a new Cabinet Directive on Regulation (the CDR).

The Cabinet Directive on Regulation (the CDR) sets out the Government of Canada’s expectations and requirements in the development, management, and review of federal regulations. It is supported by four policies approved by the President of the Treasury Board. This page provides guidance, templates, and tools for regulators to help them meet the requirements of the new CDR. It will provide resources for both new and experienced regulators.
