Launched in 2018, the surge team provides additional policy capacity to partner teams internally and within other federal departments; and was replicated based on the Treasury Board Secretariat surge team model where she worked for two years prior. Katie started her federal public service career in 2013 at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada on a policy team focused on foreign credential recognition, newcomer settlement, and testing new approaches to inform the Settlement Program.
