=== NMC at 25: Renewed Vision, Stronger Community ===
+
=== From Feedback to Action: Using Your Input to Drive Change ===
As we celebrate 25 years of meaningful growth at the NMC, we’re excited to share our '''refreshed''' '''mission''', '''strategic objectives''' and '''updated governance'''. The NMC is evolving to better support you through collaboration, communication, and high-quality resources. A big thank you to our Advisory Boards members for their guidance and input throughout this process.
+
[[File:NMC Screenshot Pie chart effectiveness Poll question to managers may25.png|left|frameless|238x238px]]
 +
Thank you to the '''573 managers''' who responded to our May poll question! We asked:

Here are a few highlights you’ll benefit from as an NMC member:
+
a) ''On a scale of 1 to 5, how effectively does your work environment support your ability to lead and manage your team?''

* National Engagement – A stronger focus on collaboration across departments and regions.
+
b) ''What specific changes would improve your effectiveness as a manager, supervisor, or team lead?''
* Business Sustainability – Improved efficiency and clarity in how we work.

* Two-way Communication – A continued commitment to listening to managers and responding to your evolving needs.

* Manager Growth – Access to high-quality, relevant development opportunities.

→ Curious to know more? Visit our [[:en:National_Managers'_Community_(NMC)/_About_Us|'''About Us page on GCwiki''']] to learn more about our renewed governance, the members behind it, and their roles.
+
The average rating was 2.94. While some feel well supported, '''68% rated their environment as moderately effective or less''', and only 8% said it was “very effective.

As we continue to evolve, we want to make sure we’re meeting your real needs as a manager. That’s why we’d love to hear from you:
+
Your comments were clear and thoughtful. You called for more authority in staffing and decision-making, better support from internal services, more manageable workloads, improved hybrid workplace infrastructure, and practical training. Many of you also highlighted the need for more transparent communication and stronger recognition of the realities managers face.

'''What’s next?'''
On a scale of 1 to 5, how effectively does your current work environment support your ability to lead and manage your team?

What specific changes would improve your effectiveness as a leader? 👉[https://forms.office.com/r/YLd9DmJnPQ '''Answer here''']<div style="text-align: right;">
+
The NMC will continue to share your insights with senior leaders, relevant programs and networks. Each month, we’ll ask one or two short questions to better understand your reality as a manager. Your responses are anonymous and help us shape programming, tools, and guide national conversations with our advisory boards, committees and partners that reflect what matters most for managers.

NMC Insight

From Feedback to Action: Using Your Input to Drive Change

Thank you to the 573 managers who responded to our May poll question! We asked:

a) On a scale of 1 to 5, how effectively does your work environment support your ability to lead and manage your team?

b) What specific changes would improve your effectiveness as a manager, supervisor, or team lead?

The average rating was 2.94. While some feel well supported, 68% rated their environment as moderately effective or less, and only 8% said it was “very effective.”

Your comments were clear and thoughtful. You called for more authority in staffing and decision-making, better support from internal services, more manageable workloads, improved hybrid workplace infrastructure, and practical training. Many of you also highlighted the need for more transparent communication and stronger recognition of the realities managers face.

What’s next?

The NMC will continue to share your insights with senior leaders, relevant programs and networks. Each month, we’ll ask one or two short questions to better understand your reality as a manager. Your responses are anonymous and help us shape programming, tools, and guide national conversations with our advisory boards, committees and partners that reflect what matters most for managers.
