Welcome to FAQ’s Page
Q: Do I need my managers approval/signature to participate in this training?

A: As with all training, you should have your managers approval. No paperwork is needed for registering.

Additionally, you can always add this to your Learning Plan or Talent Management Plan.

Q: Do I have to be an official "leader" (team lead, manager, or above) to participate?

A: This program is open to all levels, more broadly we all are leaders.

Q: Is it going to be delivered in English, French or Bilingual?

A: The program is delivered in both official languages at different times during the year. Usually the Buddy System can be selected on your preferred language.

Q: Do I need a webcam to participate?

A: Webcams are always good to have, particularly in smaller groups and one-on-one exercises. Having a webcam help others know the face of the person who is talking, just be conscious of your surroundings or if you're eating.

Q: Can you explain what is the "Buddy System" and how it works?

A: The Buddy System is a small group that remains the same during the 8 weeks of the program, allowing for deeper conversations

  • The Buddy System is created before the first session of the program, and -considering the preference of language and the time zone selected during the registration- participants are randomly assigned to each team. An email is send before the first session, where you can get in touch with your buddies.
  • The Buddy System meets once a week, outside of the weekly program session
  • Each Buddy System agrees on when and for how long to chat
  • It is recommended that you meet at least for 5 minutes per participant to chat
  • Buddy system meetings are used to:
    • Connect with each other
    • Discuss what part of the practice was challenging
    • Share ideas, insights, or ah-ha” moments
    • What you liked the most, etc
Q: I am on holidays for part of the program, so I will miss some of the sessions - is that a problem?

A: a couple of things here to consider:

  • There is no need to report this to the coordinators, reason is the accountability resides in the participant and the Buddy System
  • If you miss a session, you get in touch with your buddy system and let them know.
  • The sessions are recorded, and posted within the next 48 hours to each session on the MCLD - Program Cohort, CoP & CoI, within the Blogs section. You are welcome to watch the recordings when you can..
Q: What is the total required time to participate in this program?

A: As per the description in the invitation page.

Q: Is this something we can attend as a group? (Like in a team, booking a boardroom)

A: This program is intended to be attended by volunteer participation and connect individually. The reason for this is because there are a couple of sub-groups activities likely to be randomly assigned during the sessions.

Q: Is there any cost associated to this program?

A: No, only your commitment to participate throughout the program

Q: Am I going to receive a confirmation email when I register?

A: Yes, everyone who registers is accepted to this program and will receive an outlook calendar meetings invite, likely 5 days prior to the start of the program. In the meantime you can block your calendar.

Q: What is the platform we'll use?

A: MS-Teams
