|Tooba Tariq is a Payment Services Officer (PSO) at Employment and Social Development Canada. She has over 4 years experience of serving Canadians with regards to delivering the Employment Insurance (EI) program, analyzing and applying the EI Act, and solving client’s enquiries for Regular and Special benefits. As a Peer Mentor, she has mentored 15 PSOs with taking EI calls, approved their transactions, held an open-door policy for questions, provided constructive feedback, and completed forms to document their daily learning. As a team representative for the Social Wellness Committee, she promotes social wellness and engagement by planning activities that are focused on team building activities, monthly contests, and has been the Project Leader for the New Hire Hospitality Project for new hires at the EI, Canada Pension Plan, and Canada Dental Care Plan Call Centres.

She was selected as one of the top 10 candidates to participate in the Edmonton EI Call Centre Team Leader Development Program for the 2024/2025 Fiscal Year. She obtained the alumna status, indicating that she was successful in applying the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s Key Leadership competencies that are required for the Team Leader role. Through classroom facilitation of the New Employee Orientation for March 2025, she welcomed new hires to the Edmonton Call Centre and provided training whereby they were introduced to the responsibilities of a PSO.
