What motivated you to join the Lifting as you Lead Mentoring Circles program?
The program's motto: Connect, Elevate, Inspire caught my eye. So I was curious to learn how it works.
How do you envision your participation contributing to your professional growth?
What I learned from the readings, masterclasses and experience-sharing among the members equipped me in my communication with colleagues and my manager, and I particularly liked the tools and techniques to be applied to change management and the art of negotiation.
What specific goals or aspirations do you hope to achieve through this experience?
I want to help spread the word about the program around me, so that many employees can acquire the concepts that will help them achieve real inclusion, which involves acquiring tools and changing behaviours.
How do you believe mentorship and sponsorship can enhance your leadership skills in the public service?
Mentoring will enable me to explore avenues I didn't know existed, and it will also help me to strive to achieve my goals.
What unique strengths or perspectives do you bring to your circles that can benefit others?
I recommend surrounding yourself with people who listen to you, hear you and support you in your difference.
How would you define success for yourself at the end of this Lifting as you Lead Mentoring Circles program?
My success is the connection to a large number of employees (various levels) in a very short time, access to a library and my commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
Has your view of leadership - and who can be a leader - changed?
Yes, anyone can acquire leadership skills and apply them wherever they are.
Do you view your public service career differently after participating in the Lifting as you Lead Mentoring Circles program?
Yes, with a lot of hope and a lot of baggage to help us move forward in the public service.
What is the one message you would like to leave us with today?
I'm delighted to have learnt and, above all, to now be on the continuing education network.
