|Brett obtained a Bachelors of Physical Education from Brock University in 1990 as he was originally intending to be a teacher.

However, Brett’s Public Service journey started in 1989 when we was hired as a student by Employment and Immigration Canada to work at the airport in Toronto.  Since that time, Brett has worked at the Immigration and Refugee Board, Citizenship and Immigration Canada, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and the Canada Border Services Agency.  He obtained his first permanent job in the Public Service in 1991 and never looked back towards an alternate career path.

Furthermore, Brett has significant management and executive experience and has experience working in a variety of areas of the Government with the aforementioned organizations, including: Immigration, Public Safety, National Security, Data Analytics, Legislative and Regulatory Development and Training.  He has experience working at the operational, Regional, National and International levels on behalf of the Government of Canada.
