Government of Canada (GC) Onboarding

Creating a shared experience for all public servants where they can learn about being digital and connect with both their functional communities and their employee-led networks.

Building a workforce for digital-first delivery

Welcome to the Government of Canada.  You have chosen to join an organization whose mission is to make a difference for Canadians and for Canada.  Our job is to create an environment where you are welcomed for who you are and what you bring to the table and can thrive! Key to your success is connecting with others and understanding what success in today’s world looks like.

Today, it is crucial for all government employees to improve their overall awareness of digital…to be and think digital, no matter their role, everything from administrative support to science researchers, policy developers and front-line service workers, people working to deliver programs and services across all Government of Canada (GC) mandates.

This page is all about helping you to understand being digital and to help you make connections across the GC.

Being Digital

Male in front of a computer with headphones on his head.

No matter what you do, you touch digital in some way as a GC employee, through program or service delivery and as an end user of digital solutions.

Employee Led Networks

Two people sitting in front of a desk looking at a computer screen together.

Finding and connecting with others who are like you.  Our employee-led networks promote and support the goals and needs of diverse communities employed in the Public Service.

Functional Communities

Group of four people standing. One is holding a piece of paper that they're all looking at.

Finding and connecting with other public servants who share common work purposes, functions, competencies, professional interests, learning and career paths.
