September 12, 2024

Our languages in ACTION!

Every year, we pay tribute to Canada's rich linguistic heritage on Official Languages Day (formerly known as Linguistic Duality Day). This year's event highlights the crucial role languages play in everyday life, and emphasizes the tangible impact they have in the arts, sciences, entrepreneurship, sports, culture and more.

Our languages in ACTION! encourages the exploration and promotion of our languages in all their forms. The theme also inspires commitment and collaboration to support and promote the cohesion of our communities in a rapidly changing world.

Take advantage of Official Languages Day to celebrate English and French together, discover athletes and artists, and learn about the realities of Canadians and the work of minority community organizations.

This event is organized by the Council of the Network of Official Languages Champions, the Linguistic Duality Network, in collaboration with the Canada School of Public Service, Canadian Heritage, the Treasury Board Secretariat, the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages and other partners.

You don't want to miss the virtual event, open to the general public, on September 12, 2024, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (ET).
