<p>Ted McDonald is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is the founding Director of the NB Institute for Research, Data and Training, New Brunswick’s only provincial administrative data centre. He is also the Chair of the Canadian Research Data Centre Network Academic Council, a member of the CRDCN Board, and the Academic Director of the NB Statistics Canada Research Data Centre. In addition, Dr. McDonald is on the executive committee of Health Data Research Network Canada and is the New Brunswick lead of the Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit (MSSU). His main areas of research include the health status and health services use of immigrants and other subpopulations, socioeconomic determinants of cancer and other chronic diseases, and immigrant retention and mobility. Dr. McDonald is a UNB research scholar for 2020-22 and previously held that title in 2012-14. In 2019 he was co-winner of the Mike McCracken award for Economics Statistics, awarded by the Canadian Economics Association.  </p>
