GCcollab isn’t like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
+
+
GCcollab will be a public commons for the digital age; one that will be free to use, inclusive, and without advertising – forever. GCcollab is becoming that open, accessible digital workspace.
+
+
The workspace is starting to host new micro-services (in a similar fashion to Google’s suite of services) which will each have a specific purpose to meet the needs of users. It has been and will continue to be created using open source software, with data housed on Canadian servers.
+
+
While the Government of Canada is GCcollab’s main steward, partners across Canada and the globe are contributing to the project; including the Government of the Netherlands, the Department of National Defence, the Centre for Social Innovation, and more. By leveraging the skills and expertise of many partners, GCcollab will become an ecosystem of tools where partners can meet and collaborate together in real-time.
+
+
The workspace not only exemplifies the Government of Canada’s commitment to digital engagement, but also shows how a modernized workforce can seamlessly co-create with colleagues and citizens.
