==== 1. Overview ====
The G7 AI Network (GAIN) is a collaborative initiative launched by the G7 countries to advance responsible and effective adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in the public sector. GAIN brings together government officials, researchers, and practitioners to share knowledge, align on best practices, and accelerate innovation in AI governance and deployment.
GAIN plays a central role in coordinating the [[/www.canada.ca/en/government/system/digital-government/digital-government-innovations/responsible-use-ai/ai-grand-challenge.html|Grand Challenge]]—which will be supported by a series of Rapid Solution Labs (RSL) designed to generate innovative and scalable solutions to public sector AI challenges. These labs are a key component of Canada’s commitment under the [[/www.pm.gc.ca/en/news/statements/2025/06/17/g7-leaders-statement-ai-prosperity|G7 Leaders’ Statement on AI for Prosperity]], which includes:
* Launching the G7 GovAI Grand Challenge and hosting RSL to address barriers to AI adoption in the public sector.
* Establishing GAIN to develop a roadmap for scaling AI projects and curating a catalogue of open-source, shareable AI solutions.
