<span style="font-size: 1.0em;"><small>A more bilingual public service is one that can best meet the needs of Canadians. Language training is a key factor to increase the bilingual capacity of the public service. For this reason, a framework was developed to support second language training for all federal public servants.</small></span>

<span style="font-size: 1.0em;"><small>On June 17, 2024, [[/www.canada.ca/en/treasury-board-secretariat/news/2024/06/statement-by-minister-anand-on-advancing-official-languages-initiatives.html|the President of the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat announced]] the launch of the first-ever second official language training framework to increase the bilingual capacity of the public service. This is one of the official languages reform initiatives announced in 2021 in [[/www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/corporate/publications/general-publications/equality-official-languages.html|English and French: Towards a substantive equality of official languages in Canada]].</small></span>
