Updates

DTO

New blog post this week on how we’ve started using the Task Success Survey to compile the top task list for Canada.ca. The current listing covers the last fiscal year (ending March 2022). The next annual listing will be generated after the end of this fiscal year.

Federal Provincial Territorial (FPT) meeting tomorrow at 1pm

Agenda is Governance - what works well and how to improve

  • If you want to share tips or listen in, request an invitation from DTO

Web Executive Board (WEB) meeting Thursday at 3

  • David Pepin to present on ChatGPT
  • Governance review discussion

Reaching web-adjacent communities: From our Easyretro discussion on March 8, a follow up is forthcoming in weeks ahead. Stay tuned.

Finance

Federal budget on Tuesday, March 28 - Please do not publish media products between 3:30 and 4:30 pm so that the Budget products can be published in a uninterrupted block of content

A Heads of Comms message will be sent shortly with details on a period of limited communications following the Budget. It will likely last approximately 2 weeks.

CBSA

NEXUS news release at 2pm today regarding the two-stage process for international border crossing interviews.

Action items

  • Mobile applications page: DTO received an email from Google about Government of Canada apps listed in the mobile applications page, which is accessible from the subfooter. Several are no longer available for download. Please check (regularly) to see if your department has apps listed there, and ensure links are up to date.
  • Old references in web content about eligibility for CPP/OAS/GIS changing to 67 - ESDC is seeing references to a proposed age change under the previous government. The proposed implementation date was April 2023 so Google searches are pulling up old/archived references and confusing people. Principal Publisher may reach out to some departments about a handful of old news releases or other content that may need to be adjusted. Please also check your own web assets for any references and ensure that they are either removed if they aren’t needed, or identified clearly as archived content.

Roundtable

What are people using for broken link checkers?
