Now available: Red Tape Review progress reports
On July 9, 2025, the Honourable Shafqat Ali, President of the Treasury Board, launched a Red Tape review of regulations across federal departments and agencies with regulatory responsibilities.
As part of this initiative, ministers reviewed regulations within their portfolios and proposed actions to reduce red tape.
Progress reports from this review are now available, identifying nearly 500 recent and forward-looking initiatives to reduce regulatory red tape. A summary of these reports is also available, along with the President’s recent statement on the results.
Looking forward, the Office will continue to engage with stakeholders and regulators to drive further action, building on this important milestone.
