GCJT - GCJT Blog Posts
Prototype Review Completed! 2023-02-22
The various prototype reviews and testing activities (see our previous blog posts) for the Dayforce recruitment solution offered by NextGen HR and Pay solution vendor, Ceridian, are now complete.
In the final analysis, the Dayforce recruitment solution was found to be strong, well-designed, modern and easy-to-navigate, and it met over 85% of the business capabilities reviewed, in part or in full. It offered modern capabilities such as skills matching, providing candidates and hiring managers the capability to upload relevant documents, generating electronic letters of offer, and self-serve reporting capabilities; all of which aligned with the features our users are most interested in seeing in a new solution.
Users also reported an overall positive experience, most finding the solution to be a significant improvement over the current site, as well as being simple, intuitive and visually appealing.
The results are encouraging. They indicate that the recruitment module is a viable solution and that the PSC should go forward to a next phase of conducting live pilots with a limited number of departments to test the solution in a production environment, aimed for 2023/2024.
Major milestone reached, GCJT begins evaluations! 2020-09-05
We are excited to share our progress regarding GC Jobs Transformation (GCJT): this fall we will begin evaluating recruitment software solutions with test users!
We are now moving forward with Proof of Concept evaluations with vendors already prequalified to work with the Government of Canada. Through this process we will evaluate recruitment solutions from vendors and determine how they meet our user needs and the functionality we’re looking for. The result of these evaluations will inform the next steps of the project, including recommending a potential solution with which we would conduct pilots, using live hiring processes.
These Proof of Concept evaluations begin this fall and with subject matter experts from across the Public Service Commission. We are also conducting usability testing with selected departments, ensuring a focus on diverse representation of Employment Equity groups, geographic location, language profiles and user groups (Job Seekers, Hiring Managers and HR Professionals). This testing will be carried out in partnership with Shared Services Canada’s Accessibility, Accommodation and Adaptive Computer Technology (AAACT) program to ensure the new solution meets GC accessibility standards.
We also hope to bring a Digital User Expo to the greater GC for you to see the solution(s) in action and so that your valuable feedback can help to inform our pilot stage. For more details, visit the GC Jobs Transformation webpage and be on the lookout for upcoming communications this fall on progress made.

HR Symposium - December 12, 2019
What an exciting day at the HR Symposium in December! We had the pleasure of engaging with hundreds of you and were able to get your real-time feedback regarding features YOU are most interested in, when it comes to a new recruitment solution. We know that all of these features matter to our users but this helps us continue to keep an eye on where the greatest pain points remain. Looking forward to all that 2020 will bring for our project!
