Notes and action items
DTO updates
- Shared training: We lost the chat from April 5 when people volunteered to share training resources, so we’ve created a sign up sheet. Please add your name and we’ll reach out to collect any resources you can add to our shared training space.
- Sign up sheet
- Shared training resources (GCPedia)
- Labour disruption pages: Strike mandate has been announced so the Web executive board will be meeting regularly until things are resolved. Please make sure your executive team is looped in. Contact M-R Charbonneau if you need to.
Gérard Dicks Pellerin (NRCan)
Web orientation and training
3 modules:
- Why: Policies of the web - focus on plain language requirements and what happens if you don’t apply them
- How: Key web design concepts, approaches with good and bad examples, applying the Canada.ca style guide
- Tools: Creating accessible Word documents
Target audience is content creators - policy, program, comms advisors, social media
Currently using new accessibility requirements as an incentive to get more people trained
Feedback from participants drives updates to the training.
Plain language community of practice
