Notes and action items

1.Updates Action Items from DTO

  • Reminder to get your alerts up and keep them updated

Alert guidance around what they should look like and how to link them up is listed on the Content design guidance page of this wiki.

  • Make sure you do accessibility check on your content
  • Join GC-Comms Slack channel

Susan Harper (Health Canada)

  • Finalizing Landing page guidance to help keep content on the page limited and strategic. It is going through approvals.

Celeste (PCO)

  • Putting together an analytics working group — goal is high-level insights we can share upward, starting with web stats and then incorporating other types of data (phone call data, usability testing results, social media stats, etc.)

Debbie (Principal Publisher)

  • Working on changing breadcrumb from Home to Canada.ca. The breadcrumb provides clarity to people if they are on Canada.ca. Seeing lots of phishing scams so this is a way to let people know what is official. Should be live by April 16.

2. Analytics

Senior Management is looking for: What did we do? Did it work? Are Canadians getting what they want from it?

Update from Jonah Ackerman (Health Canada)

  • Creating a working group to get data out to the general public and create reports for senior management

Principal Publisher puts out daily reports on :

  • What people click on
  • What people search to get to Coronavirus page
  • What people search for when they are Coronavirus
  • Call centre data
  • Google search data
  • Application on Canada.ca

Health Canada puts out weekly reports on

  • Daily report from Thrive Health (app)

There are also a lot of usability testing reports worth sharing.

We have a Research and data sharing wiki page. It’s a work in progress. Please post reports you have (as long as it’s ok for them to be available on a public site). As we see what we have, we can organize it better.

We would like feedback about what the community needs. Reach out on the #analytics-search-evidence channel on Slack channel to discuss the types of data you need or types of reports you're working on, or get in touch with the Analytics working group.

Update from Nicolas Pjontek (Principal Publisher)

Principal Publisher produces the following reports and dashboards:

  • Cumulative Dashboard
  • Previous Day Dashboard
  • Click Map reports
  • CERB Dashboard
  • Virtual Assistant Dashboard

They are working on posting these on the GC Wiki.

Other reports

Julie Dufour (ISED) gets daily call centre reports - most of the COVID related inquiries are for programs that other depts manage.
