TO Plan 2022

INTRODUCTION

The Transformation Office (TO) at Regulatory Operations and Enforcement Branch (ROEB) has virtual doors that are wide open to learning, changing and experimenting to improve our service delivery and operational efficiency. With the final Multi-Year Compliance and Enforcement Transformation and Build Back Better projects forging our path, TO has evolved — driving the coherent, efficient, and consistent transformation across ROEB programs. The Transformation Office is part of ROEB's Planning and Operations Directorate (POD) at Health Canada. It was created in January 2021.

Mission

Our mission is to motivate, encourage, and inspire ROEB employees through leadership, education, and support on how to transform the way they deliver their activities in an effective, efficient and sustainable manner.

Vision

The Transformation Office is a place to dream big and be bold with transformation projects designed to make ROEB a place of excellence when it comes to compliance, enforcement, service delivery and operational efficiency.

Areas of Transformation Support

As the connection point between ROEB's programs and their transformation projects, the Transformation Office team is focusing their efforts on:

  • Facilitation projects including our biweekly Anything Transformation Directors meetings and the new Inspectors Network.
  • Frameworks and policy designs including those for online marketplaces and hybrid inspections.
  • Training opportunities like our Leadership and Tools workshops.
  • Outreach activities like our Telling Our Stories series and other informative articles.
  • Better processes and tools like our Approval Process Optimization and Robotic Process Automation projects improve service delivery.
  • Plan 2022.jpg
Experiments are a way of finding solutions and the Transformation Office has many of these experiments on the go including our Hummingbird and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) experimentations. FTIR identifies chemical substances in a sample by measuring how much of beam with many frequencies of light it absorbed.
