<p>As you know, The Canada School of Public Service (<abbr>CSPS</abbr>) is currently in the process of procuring a new modern digital learning platform to deliver the Next Generation of Learning.
The goal of this Agile procurement process in collaboration with Public Service and Procurement Canada (<abbr>PSPC</abbr>) is to assess our top two highest scoring vendors, <strong>D2L Brightspace</strong> and <strong>SAP SuccessFactors</strong> which recently delivered prototypes. </p>
==<strong>Next steps</strong>==
<strong>200</strong> testers from over <Strong>35</strong> departments and agencies will assess both <strong>D2L Brightspace’s</strong> and <strong>SAP SuccessFactor’s</strong> prototypes. With their help, we will be able to find the best solution possible to provide you and the rest of the public service with the best learning experience possible.
Each tester will be given access to the two prototypes with scripts. These scripts will help assess the prototypes and provide individual scores for each one of the vendors. Testers will be helping us evaluate the following:
<ul>
<li>Capabilities (functions) in different areas based on the scenarios;</li>
<li>Overall usability of the experience and interfaces</li>
<li>Accessibility (<abbr>WCAG</abbr>) of the systems; and</li>
<li>The quality of Official Languages of the various prototypes.</li>
</ul>
<p>The testing period will end in mid-june.</p>

Once all the scores are gathered and combined with the financial submissions, we will then determine the highest-scoring vendor.

<p>The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of coming together as a community of public servants, including to help each other find work alternatives. The Canada School of Public Service is actively moving towards secure, cloud-based systems that will provide improvements in system availability, functionality and usability for all learners.</p>
In partnership with Public Services and Procurement Canada, the School has run an agile, competitive procurement process to replace its current learning management system. The School is pleased to announce the top two vendors of its Next Generation Digital Learning Environment request for proposals: D2L Brightspace and SAP SuccessFactors.
The next phase of the procurement process will engage public servants in virtually testing the platforms of the two shortlisted vendors. As such, we are seeking volunteers to help assess the capabilities and usability of the top two prototypes based on predesigned user scenarios. It could take two to three hours to complete one scenario, which will need to be repeated for each of the two prototypes.
We are also seeking technical specialists to assess the prototypes for compliance with official languages and accessibility (WCAG 2.0) standards. All scores from the user scenarios will be gathered and combined with the financial submissions to determine the highest-scoring vendor. The winning vendor will be awarded the final contract, and implementation of the new platform will begin.
