The Government of Canada is a subscriber to Media Technology Monitor. This looks at the media consumption of Canadians 18+, juniors, and newcomers to Canada.

All Government of Canada employees have access to these reports and databases. Go to www.mtm-otm.ca and use your Government of Canada email address to subscribe.

This is a product that Radio-Canada uses internally and makes available to their subscribers.

There are diverse users of this platform including media, government, education sector, etc.

The survey samples cover all provinces and territories and both anglophones and francophones. Users can filter by province, region or big city.

It tracks usage for all traditional and new platforms including: video streaming, traditional tv, audio, online radio, YouTube, etc. Also different mobile phone providers, paper newspapers, social media, what kind of devices people use (apple wch, virual reality, tablets) etc.

It also has demographic categories such as age, sex, language, schooling, employment status, income, etc.

Can filter by adults, juniors, newcomers, then genre, then type.

Adoption report is a great report to look at when you first get in as it has an overall look at the whole Canadian market.

Anything you produce on the site you’ll be able to download to your own files.
