Updates

Wildfires continue and seem to be a growing concern across the country. They will likely be going on all summer. Provinces and territories are the leads on wildfires, the federal government just supports them. Their websites are the main sources of information. Public Safety will be updating the federal pages today and this week related to donation matching programs for Northwest Territories and Nova Scotia in addition to the one for Alberta.

National Public Service Week is coming up next week.

Federal-Provincial-Territorial (FPT)

  • The June 13 meeting is about design systems
  • If you’d like to attend, reach out to the DTO inbox
  • DTO is switching their role in this group - from a lead to a supporting role, and others have volunteered to take over leading it

The Policy Centre has been doing consultations for the Communications Policy. There are two consultations for web coming up in the next two weeks. Heads of Comms have nominated representatives for each of these sessions and the invitations should be going out shortly. Touch base with your Heads of Comms contact to see who is going from your group.

CCO Learning Day is September 13. This is always a great day of learning for the Communications Community. This year’s theme – “Breaking Through the Noise” – is all about cutting through the clutter, even as the world around us gets louder and louder. Sessions will touch on top-of-mind themes such as communicating with diverse communities, A.I. and the future of communications, inclusive writing and how to reach the next level in your communications career!
