Mentoring is a joint venture. Successful mentoring means sharing responsibility for learning. It is about building a partnership relationship. It is characterized by: acceptance, trust, openness, support, caring and commitment.

Intentional Learning is the Cornerstone

The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) Living Library is a unique platform that allows you to access mentorship at your own pace.

Become a 'Living Book'

Can you tell us about your journey? We invite you to register to be a Living Book by adding your name to a database of individuals that federal servants can meet with to gain perspective on career development. This can be a powerful resource for those looking to explore other careers paths or opportunities and to get first hand advice and story sharing.

Making yourself available as a book will also allow you to gain valuable experience explaining your career path, supporting talent development and helping you to build the stories that can improve success when applying to job opportunities.

Living books can be ‘checked out’ for 30 minute conversations (a maximum 5 times for the year). Check out our Living Book Interaction guide for tips on how to get the most of your meetings.

PUT YOURSELF ON OUR BOOKSHELF!

Registering is easy. Download and complete a quick registration form, and email it to XXX@sac-isc.gc.ca.

You can also add yourself directly by exploring the network catalogues above.
