Happy Budget Day!
Budget update
Budget is usually tabled in the House of Commons at 4. When it is tabled, then Finance puts it up on the website. Vanity url: Canada.ca/budget
- PCO is working with Principal Publisher to update Canada.ca homepage once budget is tabled
- PCO sent out an email re: Budget comms - talk to your Strats Comms
- Ricky will send out an email with materials after 4 today by either Dropbox/Google
TBS DTO
- Still working on travel and vaccines.
- Travel: Hotel stayover is approved and will be posted shortly
- Vaccines: A bunch of vaccines pages went out last week. Vaccine safety is the focus this week.
- DTO Communique and Web Managers email went out last week
HC PHAC
Travel
- OIC that expires on April 21 will be strict rollover, so no changes
- On Wednesday, there will be an announcement that the Day-10 will become the Day-8 test - the travel team is working on updating the relevant content
- Prototype with DTO to plan a quarantine plan assessment tool
- Also working on ROT of travel pages
Overall
- Updates to COVID alert page re: one-time key
- Working with DTO on vaccine safety and index page
- There was an impressive 40% increase in web traffic last week, with 1.3 M visits to Canada.ca vaccine content
- COVID-19 Mandatory Hotel stopover is top page and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine: What you should know is the second most viewed.
Vaccines
- More NACI updates coming out this week
- Work on “public health measures after vaccination” has stalled

- Focusing on supporting the budget
CRA/Taxes
- Subsidy - upward adjustment changes and fixes to calculator
- CERB net vs gross - focusing on how to give this back to self-employed
- End to payments optimization project - will go live next week with web content
- Will be sharing the deck about it at a future meeting
DND
- Updating Vaccines for CAF members - should go live in coming days
Heritage
- Book of condolences for the Duke of Edinburgh is up until Friday
- Live streamed the commemoration ceremony Saturday, on Canada.ca - this was a first
On Wednesday, we will have an update on the Flying and Driving checklists and an update from last week’s F/P/T meeting.
