What is GC Students?

We are THE reference for students! GC Students is a network for students under the Federal Youth Network (FYN). The mission of GC Students is to provide you with an enriching work experience in the Government of Canada (GoC). Our role is to organize events and to provide you with resources, information and answers.

Events: We organize virtual events and networking events at the beginning and end of each semester.
Resources: Our resources can be found on this wiki page! Check out the New Student, Resources for Students, Employment - Tips and Tricks pages!
Information: Follow us on social networks to see all the useful information such as the activities of the Federal Youth Network, job offers and more!
Answers: We are here to answer all your questions! Head over to the Slack group and ask us anything!

GC Students Monthly Newsletter Don't miss events, reminders and resources from GC Students! Sign up for our monthly newsletter! By signing up to our mailing list, you'll receive monthly news of must-see resources and events for Government of Canada (GoC) students and for students interested in joining the GoC!
GC Students Facebook Group This is not an official Government of Canada (GoC) group. This group is managed by GC Students and is intended for students and recent graduates looking for a student job (FSWEP, COOP or RAP) or a job after your studies (student bridging or casual contract).
Work Plan Template This work plan is a template to encourage students to structure their work contract. The purpose of the work plan is to identify tasks that will be assigned to you and to ensure that you have meaningful and sufficient tasks that will allow you to learn and contribute to the objectives of the organization. The work plan is also intended to allow you to express yourself openly and provide feedback to your manager. Students hold a very important place in the Government of Canada (GC) and we want your work experience to be as rewarding as possible.
