What is GC Students?

GC Students is a dynamic committee of students and public servants working to expand their networks and develop new skills. The committee is an active part of the Federal Youth Network (FYN). Together they collaborate to organize and host interdepartmental events for public servants. Events are geared toward fostering relaxed networking between students and executives of other departments to provide members educational opportunities in a comfortable environment.

Additionally, we are a highly effective tool to build networks and be exposed to learning while having fun.

She has two degrees and her background lies in stakeholder outreach and engagement, strategic planning, and program development. She's a Student Outreach Ambassador for GC Students and the Federal Youth Network, an active collaborator with FlexGC, and is working to launch a Student Network at the CBSA! She believes in the power of networking and being yourself, and strives to empower students to advocate for themselves and their own careers.  Outside of work, you'll probably find Tina Greek dancing, cooking, working out, or dreaming about all the cats she'd like to adopt. Don't ever hesitate to reach out to Tina on Twitter or LinkedIn - she'd love to chat!

Audrey-Anne Racine

Co-Chair ESDC Audrey-Anne Racine (Elle/She/Her) works as a Human Resources Advisor and her tasks are mainly focused on the needs of the students. She is the National Student Ambassador at Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and co-chair of GC Students. Audrey-Anne completed her bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resources in 2020 and is in the process of obtaining a master's degree in project management from the Université du Québec en Outaouais. She got her first public service job as a student in 2019, then went through the student bridging process in May 2021. Some fun facts about Audrey-Anne: we nickname this former swimmer A2, her cat is called Toupie and she always mixes between the word Tuesday and Thursday.

Tharshika Tharmasingam

Co-Chair SSC Adventurous - Opportunity seeking - Free-spirited

Tharshika Tharmasingam is dedicated to advocate for students in the public service. While currently completing her bachelors degree in Human Resource Management at Concordia University in the faculty of John Molson School of Business (JMSB) in Montreal, QC, she is a human resources administrative assistant and a student ambassador for the Student Hub in the Agora Network at Shared Services Canada (SSC). She also was part of a competition committee at her school’s faculty (John Molson Competition Committee) and won first and third place in inter-provincial competitions such as les Jeux du Commerce (JDC) and HR Sympo in 2021. One of her most proud achievements is having the opportunity to be the Co-Chair of GC Students. GCStudents is the voice of students and as co-chiar, Tharshkia is empowered to take action on their behalf to make the GC better; she’s here to make a difference. Her aim is to build change together and contribute to the greater good of the organization and of the students through creativity and innovative thoughts. This builds a bond among students and creates sensitization and sense of belonging in the federal government.
