Update on reaching adjacent web communities and group exercise done on EasyRetro:

#One possible way to reach other adjacent communities in the short term was via different types of training:

#*Creating central official training at CSPS is possible, but is a longer-term project. We’ve had an initial conversation with CSPS and will continue to look at how this might unfold.

#*Sharing internal training resources that institutions have already created to reach out to internal stakeholders is a more immediate option. DTO will create a space to share training resources on GCPedia. Anyone with training to share can present it briefly at our Wednesday GCWP meetings for the next few weeks. This can include an overview of what the training covers and what groups within your organization it targets.

#*Resources don’t have to be full courses, they might include simpler things like checklists, one-pagers, or processes you have people follow.

#Next steps:

#**Create a repository on GCPedia

#**Volunteer to share your training materials - DTO will reach out to schedule you at an upcoming GCWP

#**Generate more ideas:

#***Design for marketing

#***Plain languaging

#***Content development process

#***Approvals and efficiency

#***Other things we do to try to bridge the gap with groups outside our web and communications colleagues

Comment

CRA is working on a safety feature. This is for people who may be living in violent or potentially violent domestic situations. They are working on a button that would toggle the screen from information that users may want to keep private - to something innocuous such as google.

This could be presented at an upcoming GCWP. Reach out to Penny Day at CRA if you’re interested in this initiative.

Examples of where this has be done on other GoC sites:
