There are numerous teams, working groups, communities of practice and influential individuals who play a large role in engaging public servants within ESDC. The aim of this site is to ensure that the events put on by these groups reach a maximum number of our colleagues so that resources are not wasted. Below is a distribution list of groups and individuals interested in engaging public servants in ESDC. The list can be used by organizers of activities to promote local or national seminars, WebExes and other events through a particular network(s). This should aid in breaking down silos, increasing collaboration and spreading best practices within the department.

=== Informal Learning Network ===

There are numerous public servants in our department who have a career’s worth of knowledge, dedication and experience. You can tap into this experience through the Informal Learning Network. The network encourages ESDC employees of any department and level cto register s collaborators, mentors and/ or guest speakers. Employees are encouraged to indicate their name, current title, location and whether or not they have access to a Web Ex account. They may then add their areas of proficiency and personal email addresses.

Employees, leaders and members of working groups or teams can then use this database to contact interested colleagues for mentorship opportunities, collaboration on projects or for WebExes or teleconferences to further enlighten themselves or their colleagues. This should aid in breaking down silos, building networks, increasing collaboration and spreading best practices within the public service.

Further discussion, resources, links and presentations can be found on our GCConnex group.[1]

ESDC Event Sharing Network

This network can be used to increase collaboration amongst branches, regions and workplaces within ESDC. It allows employees and teams to maximize resources, build bridges and spread best practices by sharing event details with each other.

Increasing the diversity of learning opportunities will lead to a department that is more agile, equipped and inclusive along with more connected. If your event is online and appeals to a large group of public servants please share it with the below groups. Please continue adding the contact details of groups interested in employee engagement particularly at the local office level.
