<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">The Council of the Network of Official Languages Champions is pleased to launch the ''Dare'' newsletter, a new biannual publication intended for Official Languages Champions. The purpose of this newsletter, which consists of brief articles and vignettes, is to inform you about current official languages files, community initiatives and upcoming events. It will also feature interviews with Official Languages Champions who will talk about the innovative activities they have implemented in their organizations, as well as a section on the new resources that have been added to the Official Languages Champions’ Toolbox.<p><p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">We are pleased to present the second issue of the Council of the Network of Official Languages Champions’ ''Dare'' newsletter, a biannual publication intended for official languages champions.<p><p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">Why was the title “Dare” chosen? The Council has been using this slogan for over a decade to encourage employees to take risks and dare use their second official language, as well as to promote a true culture of bilingualism within the federal public service.

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">This issue features news in brief on official languages, an interview with Marcelo Gomez-Wiuckstern, Official Languages Champion at Canada Lands Company, a vignette on the proposed amendments to the ''Official Languages Act'' in Bill C-&nbsp;13 and initiatives being carried out in official language minority communities. You will also find other helpful information, such as new resources added to the Official Languages Champions’ Toolbox, and upcoming events.
