Overview of the program Digital Readiness Self-Assessment Specialized learning streams Contact us FR

Welcome

The CSPS Digital Accelerator is a team-based accelerator providing hands-on learning opportunities combined with coaching and mentoring to design, prototype and test successful user-centered government services. The program focuses on the development of team members and their leaders, as they focus on the success of their project.

Background:

The CSPS Digital Academy was established by the Canada School of Public Service (CSPS) in 2018 to help federal public servants gain the knowledge, skills and mindsets they need in the digital age. The Digital Academy (DA) Premium product is focused on upskilling service design and development practitioners through coursework, peer learning and application of best practices in innovation to address real GC problems. CSPS pioneered this cost-shared learning model and it continues to draw inquiries and interest from across the GC (and beyond) because it is an effective and efficient means of building digital capacity.

Overview of the program

The CSPS Digital Accelerator spans 14 weeks in total and uses the Service Design model as an anchor to the learning experience. It starts with the Discovery phase, where teams are introduced to problem framing and user research, and continues on to the Alpha phase, where teams go through specialized learning in design, data, development, devops and artificial intelligence, and start prototyping solution ideas. It ends with Demo Day when teams present their problem and their prototyped solution to a nationwide audience of public servants and government executives.

In addition to learning specific to teams, the CSPS Digital Accelerator offers learning in digital leadership for executives and managers, recognizing their key role in shaping the future of the public service.

Digital Readiness Self-Assessment Tool

Welcome to the Exploration phase of the CSPS Digital Accelerator! We want you to get the most from your learning experience. Completing this Digital Readiness Self-Assessment will help you identify gaps in your knowledge of the Government of Canada Digital Standards and how they can be applied in your work. It will also help us direct you to relevant learning resources you can do at your own pace.

The self-assessment focuses on five of the ten Digital Standards most closely aligned with the objectives of the CSPS Digital Accelerator. Future iterations will expand to include the remaining five Digital Standards and will incorporate changes based on user (your!) input.

Note: Although the CSPS Digital Accelerator targets teams, some of the learning is open to all employees.
