Disambiguation is a wiki term which means that the title of the page needs clarification. That is, the page title lacks a certain degree of information and specificity. For example, if a user types in the search term "NRC", he or she may be trying to find either the National Research Council or Natural Resources Canada. As such, wiki volunteers will usually insert wiki-coding that will send a person searching for an ambiguous term such as "NRC" to a "Disambiguation page" (with the Disambiguation template). A Disambiguation Page provides the user with a list of terms that may be what he or she was looking for.

Broad subjects or topics are best suited to be 'category pages', in which many pages can be categorized.
