NMC virtual event: Navigating Your Career & Employee Workforce Agility in Uncertain Times

Created and delivered by expert members of the GC Career Management Community of Practice, this session is designed to support career development in the public service. Set against the backdrop of the Comprehensive Budget Review and ongoing workforce reduction exercises, it focuses on fostering career agility—for yourself and your employees—during times of uncertainty.

Participants will explore:

  • Career agility and its critical role during fiscal restraint and organizational restructuring and a rapidly evolving employment landscape.
  • Strategies for navigating your own career when facing limited opportunities and evolving roles.
  • Practical tools and approaches to build adaptability and flexibility within teams.
  • How to create a supportive culture that keeps employees engaged and agile despite uncertainty.

The goal is to equip people leaders with actionable insights to strengthen career agility at both the individual and organizational level.

Accessibility in procurement and digital services

In May 2026, Shared Services Canada (SSC) is offering managers the opportunity to learn more about accessibility in procurement and digital services by hosting a series of practical accessibility events that support integrating accessibility into procurement and digital services.

  • How to Consider and Integrate Accessibility in Procurement (May 5–6)Learn the roles of business owners and how to integrate accessibility into procurement, including Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
  • Practical Guidance to Procuring Accessible ICT (May 12–13)Understand the GC-recommended ICT accessibility standard and how to apply it in your purchases.

A new intake for Supporting Future Innovators - EmpowerU is launching soon!

Applications will be open April 13th-30th.

Co-led by the Treasury Board Secretariat’s Task Force for Black Public Servants and Digital Talent and Leadership, this Action Plan for Black Public Servants initiative gives your Black employees access to flexible, high-quality digital training and options for certifications – at no cost to your team.

Supporting participation by promoting this initiative and providing time during work hours to complete coursework is a simple way to build your team’s digital capacity while advancing equitable career development and retention of diverse talent.

The Federal Youth Network’s (FYN) In‑Person Learning Days and Future Leaders Forum are kicking off soon, and we’re seeking mentors from across the public service for our speed mentoring sessions. Mentors can be managers, directors, experienced team leads or seasoned public servants in any role. You don’t need to be an executive—anyone with experience to share and a desire to support others is welcome.
