Jocelyne Charron

Jocelyne Charron, CPA

Executive Director, Financial Policy and Community Development Division, Financial Management Sector, Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat

Jocelyne joined the Office of the Comptroller General in April 2023 as the Executive Director, Financial Policy and Community Development, she is also the Chief Data Officer for the Comptrollership function. Prior to joining the Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada, Jocelyne was the Director General of the Corporate Finance, Systems and Procurement Branch and Deputy Chief Financial Officer at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada where she led the corporate financial operations, the financial and Grants and Contributions systems; financial policies and all procurement and material management functions.

Jocelyne spent close to 9 years at Statistics Canada in various finance executive roles, including resource management, financial operations, Treasury Board Submissions, costing, governance, and project management. Half of her career was spent working in the private sector as a Financial Management Consultant specializing in activity-based costing.

Jocelyne loves challenges, transformation and implementing change, working in collaboration with others, and foremost having fun at work! A positive work environment is essential!

She is also a mother of 2 amazing, sweet children. They are the highlight of her everyday!






Erica Ren

Erica Ren

Chief Data Officer, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

In October 2022, Erica Ren was appointed Chief Data Officer (CDO) at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Before the appointment she was the Director General of Modernization at Canadian Heritage.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the Federal Public Service, Erica Ren has developed expertise in a variety of fields such as data analytics, information management, business intelligence, application development, systems analysis, enterprise architecture, application architecture, portfolio management, and project management. Her experience spans various departments and agencies, including Canadian Heritage, Canada Border Services Agency, Correctional Service of Canada, and Transport Canada. As the Director of Open Government and Data Analytics at the Canada Border Services Agency she was responsible for supporting the Agency’s analytics program and Open Government initiative and promoting the use of data as a strategic asset to make better business decisions.

Erica holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering, a Master of Engineering, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa.






Peter Pryce

Peter Pryce

Senior Research & Evaluation Analyst, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

Peter has over 10 years experience working in the Government of Canada coordinating and reviewing projects and programs for integrated business plans and agency performance reports. An aspect of the work included coordinating an activity type coding review to improve operational performance. Peter leveraged his experience in his role as an advisor with the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada after spending several years learning the department's operational data. As part of a the Research and Data Branch within the Department, Peter is leading the data funding strategies through the costing of data-works for initiatives, projects, programs, and policy changes. Peter has an Honours Baccalaurate of Social Sciences with a Specialization in Public Administration and a Minor in Business Administration. He also holds a Master of Arts in Public Ethics where his major research paper was focused on an applied ethic to data governance in Canada.

Chief Data Officer and Director General of Data and Information Services, Privy Council Office

Kara Beckles is Chief Data Officer and Director General of Data and Information Services at the Privy Council Office (PCO). As an active and experienced data leader in the Government of Canada, she has held various executive positions across the public service, including Director General of Data Integration in PCO's Result and Delivery Unit and Chief Economist at Agriculture and Agri-food Canada. She has also held various strategic, policy and analytical roles at Finance Canada, Treasury Board Secretariat, Statistics Canada, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and PCO. Kara holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and business from the University of Winnipeg and a Master of Arts in economics from Dalhousie University.
