International Equity Collective
Who we are
The International Equity Collective (IEC) is a grassroots community that fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing to drive equity and inclusion within the public sectors across the globe.
Objectives
1. Connect and Collaborate: Facilitate connections and collaboration between public sector leaders, networks for equity, and equity-seeking communities to share knowledge, strategies, and best practices.
2. Advance Equity Globally: Work together to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion within public sectors worldwide by sharing experiences and effective approaches.
3. Support Working Groups: Establish working groups focused on specific equity-related topics, to share insights and solutions.
4. Leverage Technology: Utilize platforms like Slack to connect members globally, facilitate discussions, and coordinate activities.
5. Build a Supportive Community: Create an environment of support and mutual learning, where individuals and organizations can access resources and expertise.
Structure of the IEC
1. Organizing Council: A council comprising public servants responsible for overall governance, strategy, and decision-making. The Organizing Council is accountable for the network's mission and goals.
2. Working Groups: Internationally diverse working groups focusing on specific equity topics. Each working group includes experts, public sector representatives, and community advocates.
3. Regional Representatives: Appointed representatives from different regions who act as liaisons between the IEN and equity-seeking communities and organizations in their respective regions.
Membership and Participation
Membership in the IECN is open to individuals and organizations worldwide with an interest in advancing equity in the public sector.
Activities and Initiatives
1. Regular Meetings: Meetings determined by working groups to share research, experiences, and best practices. Meetings can be facilitated using platforms like Slack or a platform of members' choice to accommodate participants across the world.
2. Knowledge Sharing: A dedicated online knowledge repository for sharing research, reports, case studies, and best practices.
3. Mentorship and Support: Establish mentorship programs to provide support to emerging leaders and equity advocates in the public sector.
4. Advocacy and Policy Development: Collaborate on international advocacy efforts and the development of inclusive public policies.
