- Interns were sourced through collaborations with Supported Employment Services* serving Canadians with disabilities across Canada

- Interns will be fully assessed and hired by the Public Service Commission and appointed at an entry level position. The PSC will facilitate the assessment and hiring process, while ensuring that host managers are actively engaged in the matching of interns with selected internship opportunities Interns will then be assigned to participating host departments via a secondment agreement.

- For internships within organizations part of Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act, Interns will be hired directly by the organization.

The Federal Internship Program for Canadians with Disabilities is a national program supporting the Government of Canada’s Accessibility Strategy. This program will offer 2-year internship opportunities in the federal public service to 125 persons with disabilities between 2019 and 2024. Internships will lead to long-term employment to help achieve the Government of Canada’s commitment to hiring 5,000 persons with disabilities by 2025.
